Reporting Rules

Plain-language rules. These rules are written to make the reporting process easier to understand. Development draft. SafeReport may be deployed publicly for technical and attorney review, but its final Terms, Privacy Policy, and real-person publication rules must be reviewed by qualified counsel before the service is treated as ready for real reports or real-name public safety records.

Tell us what you know firsthand

Report what happened to you or what you directly saw. If you heard about something from someone else, do not report it as if you witnessed it.

Be truthful

Share information you believe is true. Do not knowingly make up facts, change facts, or submit a report to damage someone's reputation.

Do not use SafeReport for bullying

Do not use SafeReport to threaten, harass, shame, bully, stalk, dox, retaliate, or seek revenge. SafeReport is a safety-reporting system, not a social-media attack tool.

Use neutral language

SafeReport uses the term Person Being Reported or Subject. A report is an allegation for review, not proof of guilt.

Photos stay private

A photo of the Person Being Reported may be used as a private identity reference. It does not prove misconduct, does not automatically confirm identity, and is not published through this photo process.

Sensitive images need special handling

Do not use the ordinary person-photo field for nude, intimate, sexual, exploitative, or minor-related images. Those materials require a separate protected evidence process.

Before you submit

You will be asked to confirm that the report is based on your personal experience or direct witnessing, that the information is truthful to the best of your knowledge, and that you are not using SafeReport for harassment, bullying, doxxing, retaliation, or revenge.
